Happy Saturday!
I’ve spent the last week with family, good food, and watching loads of Zach King videos (inspiration for a new project). I also devoured an unhealthy amount of cheesecake.
This week, I’m sharing YouTube headlines, Twitter surprises, and why humor is essential to copywriting.
Onward and forward!
I.
Zach King is the king of magic on YouTube.
My kids and I love watching his videos. His headlines are good because they involve the reader and make you curious to learn more.
You can learn a lot from studying the headlines of some of the most prolific YouTube creators.
II.
Humor is one of the best ways to hook readers.
You can use humor to say something surprising. It seems like the hook will go a certain way and then it takes a left turn.
It's just like this favorite tweet of mine.
III.
Good copywriting gets people to stop the scroll.
That’s why I like to add a little twist to my content. It seems like it’s going in one direction and then changes.
Sometimes I reframe things. Sometimes, I say something quick and short (kinda funny). I like to experiment, and that’s my strategy.
Try experimenting with your hook. You’ll see what works.
