ZocDoc Ads, Plumbing Problems, & Star Wars Earaches
Home cooked copywriting examples for your enjoyment.
Hi, I’m Ben Watkins 👋 Thanks for joining another edition of La Vie Ben Rose. Every week, I unravel copywriting examples from the most recognized brands. From the inner workings of my brain, I craft together memorable emails, landing pages, social, and even video ads to show you the power of copywriting and advertising.
Happy Saturday!
The great storm has passed NC! And now we are on our way to Conway, SC to visit family.
In other news, I made two social ads for your enjoyment. I’ll break down my entire process for creating them next week. Today, I’ll share the principle behind each one.
Onward and forward!
I. Make healthcare ads stand out
Healthcare ads are typically boring. They lack creativity. They aren’t fun. They don’t stop the scroll.
So, I created this social ad for ZocDoc. And I evaluated it based on these questions:
Is it clear?
Does it stand out?
Is it compelling?
Yes, to all three (I’ll share my process for how next week).
II. Find the resistance
Everyone has resistance to your product.
When it comes to professional plumbers, the resistance home owners have is paying for a service they can do themselves for a lot cheaper - the DIY folks of the world.
I created this social ad for a friend who has a plumbing service. It doesn't attack DIY folks but focuses on the subtle challenges of DIY jobs - doing them over and over again.
Take a common phrase, twist it, and add your service.
III. Parody is fun
Humor is one of the best ways to capture attention.
Parody is my favorite kind of humor. Find something relatable to attach your product with.
