My first freelance client came from a cold email.

But I also had zero success with hundreds of cold emails before and after that moment in my career.

That’s the nature of cold emails. They sometimes work. They also never work. You can play the numbers game. Or you can play the ultra-personalized game (and still get rejected).

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from sending thousands of cold emails, you learn the more you go. There are different strategies that work for brands, freelancers, and even people looking for jobs.

Now, I’ve written hundreds of cold emails for myself and for other brands.
