Self-Deprecating Humor, Visual Messaging, & Transcend Expectations
Home cooked copywriting examples for your enjoyment. Sip some coffee. Relax.
Hi, I’m Ben Watkins 👋 Thanks for joining another edition of La Vie Ben Rose. Every week, I unravel copywriting examples from the most recognized brands.
Happy Saturday!
We got snow this week here in NC, so it’s been a fun-filled week of no school and plenty of adventures! Plus loads of hot chocolate.
Today, it’s college basketball and, of course, copywriting examples!
Onward and forward!
I. Self-Deprecating Humor
I love disarming honesty. Heinz owns its mistakes without feeling cheesy.
I also love the parallel of ridiculously late and ridiculously good. Most importantly, it tells a story.
II. Visual Messaging
Efficiency through execution. In other words, show the reader, don’t tell the reader.
It’s witty while keeping a clear message.
III. Transcend Expectations
I love this headline approach because it begins with a strong promise to the reader.
This is something I like to call “Beyond the Obvious” scenario. Consider the basic and show the reader there’s more to it.
