Drizzle CTAs, Fancy Ketchup, and Rollercoaster Stories
Three copywriting examples & three writing examples from around the web (plus a bonus).
Hi, I’m Ben Watkins 👋 Thanks for joining another edition of La Vie Ben Rose. Every week, I unravel copywriting examples from the most recognized brands. I also look at how to transform your writing with style, clarity, and stories so you can build an audience, transform your writing, and create endless opportunities.
Next week’s columns:
The Ultimate Guide to Leveraging LinkedIn (Find Leads and Write Snappy Content)
The Psychology of Storytelling Techniques That Get People to Buy
P.S. I’m looking for future sponsors (because I have 5 kids), so if you could answer these five questions, that would be great. PLUS - you get free access to my landing page course after you fill it out (shoot me an email to let me know).
The Copywriting Magic Bundle (ends in almost a week!)
Happy Saturday!
This is a busy season with work. Completed a new re-engaged demo sequence for a health tech client. Did an email workshop. And wrote LinkedIn posts and ads for another client - send coffee!
On another note, about to go on a bike ride with the kiddos. We get McDonald’s fries after to refuel.
Lastly, I changed my referral system on Substack. 5 referrals get you access to my landing page course, 25 referrals get you my email and landing page workshop material, and 50 referrals get you a one-hour copy edit call with me.
Onward and forward!
I found some real humdingers this week.
Copywriting Examples
I.
Graza has amazing copywriting that feels conversational and fun. This is one of their emails about ice cream with olive oil (weird).
The call to action in these emails is playful and inviting.
II.
Heinz created an anonymous social experiment.
People were asked to draw ketchup. 97% of them drew Heinz Ketchup.
It shows that people don’t remember the product. They remember the brand behind that product.
III.
There’s a lot that AI can do to help with research, writing, and editing. It’s a great tool.
But there’s also a lot it can’t do. And it can’t replace creativity.
It also can’t build stuff for you. I thought this was a good take on it with good copywriting.

I discovered this wonderful, wacky take on punctuation. Imagine if they could talk. This is what they would say.
Enjoy it. Use it.

Is your writing dryer than your great grandma’s cornbread? Not to worry!
Here’s a lovely chart I discovered that helps identify the different levels of humor.
I love a good bit of satire,

If you’re like me, trying to write stories, this graph is also a great illustration of the storytelling arc.
Don’t forget the plot hole.

I found this flow chart because I love flow charts.
And now it’s one of my favorites.
