Boring Emails, 4Ps Framework, & Unrivaled Truth
Home cooked copywriting examples for your enjoyment.
Hi, I’m Ben Watkins 👋 Thanks for joining another edition of La Vie Ben Rose. Every week, I unravel copywriting examples from the most recognized brands.
Happy Saturday!
All of a sudden, it’s winter and freezing. And I’m here for it. Time to drink more coffee, watch more movies, and hope it snows.
Also, I recently did a 1:1 with a B2B founder, and I love this glowing review from him!
“Benjamin took a fresh look at key web pages and gave us actionable tips on how to streamline the messaging and layout, to highlight the major points and remove the minor ones. Also gave great insight, beyond scope of writing, about page layout and moving visitors toward conversions. A great session!”
P.S. You’re cordially invited to another email workshop! Early bird tickets start at $100 (or get the PDF version for $79). Book your calendars for Oct 28th at 1:00 pm EST)!

I. Boring Emails
B2B emails tend to play it on the safe side. Follow a formula. Send what other companies are sending. And they aren’t bold.
Imagine writing emails that talk to the individual instead of at them. Those emails are more engaging and persuasive and feel like a story is being told.
II. 4Ps Framework
Picture, Promise, Prove, and Push are the 4Ps of the copywriting framework. Let’s break it down with this brilliant Nikon Ad.
Picture: High-resolution, realistic image shows the power of the Nikon D7100 camera.
Promise: The ad promises that the Nikon D7100 enables photographers to capture stunning photos in the real world.
Prove: The proof is in the pudding (actually, the photo). The Nikon D7100 is an example of what kind of pictures it can take.
Push: This is the extra nudge with the line on the bottom right corner: "Don't give up on the real world." The message pushes people to appreciate reality through Nikon photography.
III. Unrivaled Truth
An honest line is more powerful than a fluffed-up line.
When you’re at a loss for what to say, always lean into the truth behind your process or product. It will resonate more with readers.
