So much rain this past week! Loved it! Except for driving in it. Not my favorite.
Also, about to see a movie with the kiddos today. And celebrate the 10th anniversary with my amazing wife next week!
Onward and forward!
Copywriting Examples
I.
Ali Abdaal’s study thread is the definition of a successful Twitter thread.
He shows his accomplishment (credibility), and then he shows how he did it. He adds a timeframe around it to make it even more specific.
II.
Twitter (not calling it X) is built for conciseness.
It’s not about using every single character they give you, it’s about using the fewest amount of words possible, no matter the character count. Amanda Natividad does it brilliantly.
A couple of things Amanda does amazing:
Doesn’t make a sentence longer than it needs to be
Short and simple sentences
Easy takeaway
III.
Jack Raines is a masterful satire storyteller.
He’s not for everyone. But he does tell some of the best stories. They all start with an interesting hook that leads you to believe something, and then he surprises you with something you didn’t expect.
It draws you in, and you’re like, “WAIT, WHAT?!”
Good copywriting keeps readers scrolling.
IV.
Sam Browne is a LinkedIn carousel genius.
Part of the genius is he knows how to hook you. He doesn’t say “11 Hooks to Consider” — BORING.
He makes it compelling to read. It’s outrageous and profitable. It’s everything you want in a hook.
And then he teases the outcome you get when you use these hooks. It’s masterful copywriting all around.
I found another flow chart. Not sure if I’m obsessed with funny and good flowcharts, but this is another favorite.
